QR menus — print + place
How to generate QR menus that customers scan to view your menu (and optionally place orders).
Why QR menus?
Customers scan a QR with their phone camera and land on your live menu. No app install, no menu reprints when prices change, and you can include allergen/dietary filters that paper menus can't. Optional: enable in-app ordering from the QR menu (great for busy lunch services where servers are stretched).
Generate a QR
Open Operations → QR Generator:
- Type — Menu (general) / Table (per-table tracking) / Pay-table (links to the QR-pay flow)
- Table number (if Type=Table or Pay-table)
- Logo overlay — Premium-plan feature; uploads your restaurant logo into the centre of the QR
- Size + format — PNG or SVG, 300×300 to 2000×2000
Click Download. Print on sticker paper at ≥3×3 cm.
Per-table QR codes
Each physical table can have its own QR. The customer's order is automatically tagged with the table number so your kitchen knows where to deliver. Open Operations → Tables & QR Codes and click Bulk download to grab all QRs at once.
Styling tips
- Print with high contrast (black QR on white background). Coloured QRs work but readers struggle in low light.
- Logo overlay should cover ≤20% of the QR area or it stops scanning.
- For outdoor tables, lamination (or sticker labels) keeps QR codes scannable in rain + sun.
Frequently asked
- No. The QR opens the menu in their phone's browser. Works on every iOS + Android + Windows phone.
- Minimum 3×3 cm. Larger is fine. Most phones scan reliably from 30 cm away at 3×3 cm.
- Yes — if you use the **Table** QR type. The order shows the table number in the Orders board.
