Stripe Connect onboarding
Connect Stripe in about 5 minutes. We cover Standard vs Express, the documents Stripe asks for, and how payouts flow.
Why Stripe Connect?
Restora 360 processes every restaurant's payments through Stripe Connect Standard. That means:
- You own the Stripe account (and the funds land in your bank, not ours).
- Restora 360 applies the marketplace commission as a Stripe application fee on every charge — fully visible in your Stripe dashboard.
- Refunds and chargebacks pull from your Stripe balance directly. We don't hold customer money.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- Your business legal name and registration number (or personal name + SSN/equivalent if you're a sole trader)
- A bank account number in your business name
- A photo ID for the account representative
- Tax ID (VAT / EIN / OrgNr depending on your country)
The connect flow
- Open Billing → Payment methods in your dashboard.
- Click Connect Stripe. You're redirected to Stripe's hosted onboarding.
- Pick Existing Stripe account (sign in) or New account (Stripe will help you create one).
- Submit the business details + ID verification.
- After Stripe confirms (usually instant, sometimes ≤24 hours), you're redirected back with a green "Connected" badge.
Supported payment methods
Out of the box, every connected Stripe account accepts:
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
- Apple Pay + Google Pay (no extra setup)
- Stripe Link (saved-card auto-fill)
Region-dependent:
- Klarna + Afterpay/Clearpay — Buy now, pay later
- iDEAL (NL), Bancontact (BE), Giropay (DE), EPS (AT), P24 (PL)
- Swish (SE) — via a separate adapter; see Swish setup (coming soon)
To toggle which methods show at checkout, open Settings → Payment methods.
Fees — who pays what
Every paid order has three slices:
- Stripe processing fee (set by Stripe, typically 2.9% + $0.30 for US cards) — deducted from your gross.
- Restora 360 marketplace commission (varies by plan; see Plans & pricing (coming soon)) — taken as a Stripe application fee.
- Net to you — what lands in your bank account.
If a sales agent referred you, 5% of the marketplace commission goes to them — invisible to you, no deduction from your net.
Payout schedule
Stripe pays out daily by default (rolling 2-day window for US cards, T+7 for new accounts). Open your Stripe dashboard → Payouts to change to weekly or monthly. Restora 360 never sits in the middle of your money.
Troubleshooting
Common issues:
- "Stripe says my onboarding is incomplete" — Stripe needs more docs. Open your Stripe dashboard → Settings → Account → Verification and submit what's requested.
- Payouts paused — usually a verification or bank-account mismatch. Stripe surfaces the exact reason in their dashboard.
- Cards declining in test mode — make sure you're using a Stripe test card like
4242 4242 4242 4242.
If you're stuck, open a support ticket (coming soon).

Frequently asked
- Most accounts are verified instantly. Some need 1–2 business days, especially if you trade in a high-risk category (alcohol, age-restricted items) or your business is brand new.
- Stripe accepts personal accounts for sole traders in most countries, but a business account in the legal name makes payouts and verification smoother.
- Yes — connecting Stripe doesn't affect any existing processor. Most restaurants gradually migrate then disconnect the old one.
- Stripe has > 99.99% uptime. In the rare event of an outage, the order pages show "Payments temporarily unavailable" and customers can still pay with cash on delivery / cash at pickup.
