You can’t cut waste you can’t see. Ten seconds at the bin makes it visible.
Scan the item’s barcode, tap a reason, and it’s logged — the quantity comes straight off your stock. Spoiled prep, a dropped plate, a dish that came back: it all becomes a clear record you can act on, instead of vanishing into the bin.
In plain words
A ten-second habit that turns the bin into data
When something goes in the bin — a tray of prep that turned, a bottle that broke, a dish a guest sent back — you scan its barcode, or just type its name. The item comes up from your inventory, you tap a reason and a quantity, and it’s logged. That’s the whole job. Fast enough to do at the bin, mid-shift.
The difference it makes: every log is a real stock movement. Your stock level updates the moment you tap, so your counts stay honest, and the waste shows up in your stock history with a reason attached. At the end of the month you’re not guessing where the food went — you can see it, and seeing it is the first step to cutting it.
Who it's for
Built for the people who actually use it
Kitchen & prep teams
Log spoilage and prep loss right at the bin — scan, tap a reason, back to work. No form, no clipboard, no “I’ll note it later”.
Managers & owners
See what gets thrown away and why, reason by reason. Overproduction on Tuesdays and breakage on the wash-up line stop being invisible.
Whoever minds the stock
Because every log takes the quantity off stock instantly, your levels stay true between counts — no mystery gaps at stocktake.
How it works
Up and running in three simple steps
Scan or type the item
Use a USB barcode scanner, the camera on a phone or tablet, or just type the barcode, SKU or name. The item resolves from your inventory.
Pick a reason and a quantity
Tap one of eight reasons — spoilage, expired, prep loss, overproduction, breakage, returned dish, staff meal, other — set the amount, add a note if you like.
It’s logged, stock is updated
One tap and the quantity comes off your stock. You see the new level straight away, and the log lands in your stock history with the reason.
What's inside
Everything Waste Tracking gives you
Scan it in seconds
Plug in an ordinary USB barcode scanner and it just works — it types the code and presses enter for you. Scan, tap, done.
No scanner? Use the camera
A camera mode reads barcodes on a phone or tablet. And you can always simply type the code, the SKU or the item’s name.
Eight plain reasons
Spoilage, expired, prep loss, overproduction, breakage, returned dish, staff meal, other. One tap each — no free-text guessing.
Stock updates on the spot
The logged quantity comes off your stock level instantly, and you see the new level right after. Your counts stay honest.
Waste with a paper trail
Every log is a real stock movement in your stock history, with the reason and an optional note — not a scribble that gets lost.
See what to cut
A record per reason shows what keeps getting binned and why, so you can prep less of it, order less of it, or fix the cause.
Waste Tracking shares the same core as everything else on Restora 360 — the menu, prices and orders you see here are the same ones your team sees everywhere.
Why it pays off
Honest stock, visible waste, fewer surprises
From bin to logged: scan, tap a reason, done. Quick enough that the team actually does it.
From spoilage to staff meals — every log says why, so you know what to fix.
Every log is a real stock movement — your stock level updates the moment you tap.

Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
What is Waste Tracking?
It’s a simple way to log what your kitchen throws away, right at the bin. You scan an item’s barcode (or type its name), pick a reason and a quantity, and it’s logged — the amount comes straight off your stock. Instead of waste quietly disappearing, you get a clear record of what went in the bin and why.
Do I need a barcode scanner?
No. An ordinary USB barcode scanner works out of the box — it simply types the code and presses enter — but you can also use the camera on a phone or tablet, or just type the barcode, SKU or item name into the search box.
What reasons can I choose from?
Eight: spoilage, expired, prep loss, overproduction, breakage, returned dish, staff meal and other. You tap one, set the quantity, and can add an optional note — for example which fridge the spoilage came from.
What happens to my stock when I log waste?
The quantity comes off your stock level instantly, and you see the new level right after logging. Every entry is a real stock movement in your stock history, so your counts stay honest between stocktakes.
What if the item I scan isn’t found?
Waste logging works against your inventory, so the item needs to exist there first. If a scan doesn’t match anything, add the item in Inventory once — after that it resolves every time you scan it.
Does it book waste or recycling pickups?
No. This tool is for logging what you throw away and why — it doesn’t schedule collections, and you keep whatever collection service you already use. Its job is to make your waste visible so you can reduce it.
How does this actually help me waste less?
You can’t cut waste you can’t see. Once every binned item carries a reason, patterns appear — the prep that keeps turning, the dish that keeps coming back, the over-production on quiet days. Then you can change the prep list, the portion or the order, and watch the logs shrink.
Is it included in my plan?
Waste Tracking is part of inventory management, which comes with the Basic plan at 299 kr/month (billed yearly) and with Pay As You Go (0 kr/month plus 7% per transaction). On smaller plans, inventory is a 29 kr/month add-on. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial — no card needed to begin.
